Change please

I’m gazing at my 100 year old grandmother as we play a word game together. As I see her mind at work, I can’t help but think about how quickly she would’ve solved this even five years ago. There’s a tinge of sadness, but there’s also joy. While she is slower these days, I’m beyond happy that there are still days to spend with her, to hear her voice, to see her smile.

She is a powerhouse of a human, an extraordinary woman, and someone who’s spent many, many loving hours raising me. And now, the tides have turned and I get to be there for her.

Change.

It’s inevitable and ever present with the passing of time. Like a coin, it has two sides.

🔥 You can initiate change for yourself. It feels invigorating, exciting.

🌊 You can find yourself in the wake of change. If you like things the way they are, it’s unwelcome. It brings discomfort by erasing the sameness the existed before. It brings uncertainty.

🌷 Either way, it can always bring growth.

Change within us or around us encourages more change. And if you let it, that can be a good thing. We learn more about ourselves when we navigate newness.

This new year I invite you to witness change differently.

As an evolution…

It’s such an energizing feeling to evolve. The feeling of growing into the right-for-you choices and the right-for-you people raises our energetic vibrations. It feels so good.

Even if you don’t initiate change, accept the lower vibrational feelings and remember to redirect that momentum in a forward, upward trajectory.

When you create ripples of change from your own growth, remember that people will react from where they are because they are feeling the movement of the earth under their feet. You can be empathic and resolute.

When you feel those ripples coming your way, remember that whatever heartstrings get tugged are highlighting an inner dialog that you can address to strengthen your relationship with yourself.

Change isn’t always what we want but we can make a practice out of learning to grow from it. There’s so much collective energy that comes along with a new year encouraging us to evolve.
