Tis the season

It’s not quite gift giving season, but if you’ve ever suffered from guilt when it comes to doing things for yourself, this one’s for you.

But first, I’ve got a question for you…

Do you invite friends over for dinner and not eat alongside them?

Have you ever taken your kids to a theme park but sat in the car?

Ever bought a single concert ticket as a gift for your partner or friend?

I can see you shaking your head: No. No. And no.

Do these seem like crazy questions?

I hope so.

Because you can also apply this mindset when you are giving yourself permission to invest in yourself.

Whether it’s time, energy, or money, you giving back to yourself isn’t taking away from someone else. It’s remembering you also get to give to yourself.

☀️ Making dinner and eating some of it means there’s less food for everyone but doesn’t mean anyone went home hungry.

☀️ Taking your kids to a theme park and having fun alongside them didn’t use up fun and leave them with less.

☀️ Going to a concert with your spouse or friend doesn’t detract from the experience. It actually enhances it!

This week I’m reminding you that the season for giving isn’t just a holiday thing. When you give to yourself, you have more to give.

I invite you to ditch guilt with this reframe. Hold onto the feeling you get when you receive alongside others. When your cup is full, everyone benefits.

Sending love and gratitude. xx
