Good habits turned bad

Hard working. Reliable. Responsible. Perfectionist.

Ever noticed how these “good” traits lead to some “bad” feelings? I’m talking guilt, overwhelm, and exhaustion.

You’re not alone. Every one of my clients (myself included) have experienced this.

We’re praised early on for being so dependable but then we wake up one day feeling like the weight of the world rests on our shoulders. We’re raised with short-term tools, but inevitably find ourselves running a marathon.

It leaves you feeling:

  • exhausted

  • obligated

  • maybe even resentful

Sometimes you just want to walk away from it all. Every part of your life (clients, kids, to-do list) needs you.

But work harder doesn’t have to be the answer.

As the “solution” to everyone’s needs and problems, we lose the ability to meet our own needs. Those items remain at the bottom of the list.

Not any more.

In a recent episode I released, I talked about how some of our best traits, those "good" qualities, actually lead to "bad" experiences in our life.

In this short video, I shared about how the solution is found in the three types of clarity I walk my clients through.

Clarity of vision (your big picture), day (planning for the goal), and self (knowing who you are).

This process has allowed my clients:

  • a chance to get off the emotional roller coaster

  • feel empowered from being able to identify AND give themselves what they need

  • have more energy to enjoy life (and pour back into others)

You don’t need total disruption to make space for your needs. You need clarity and consistency.

If you’re curious how you can get more proactive about your happiness, catch the episode HERE.
