1-Minute Challenge

Awareness, intention, perspective and choice. These are my four pillars to feeling good and creating the life I want.

This brings us to action. Choose to do something - anything, no matter how small - to move the goal needle.

Change is difficult in its initial stages. Habit is powerful (and that’s why it’s so helpful to create habits that serve you). Changing direction feels insurmountable at the moments when you most need to create change.

Time and energy are the two things you need to initiate change, but are the two things you lack. (If you need a boost, check out my free download 3 Steps to Reduce Burnout.)

The solution? The 1-Minute Challenge!

This week identify one goal you would like to reach. Stronger body? Better physical health? Calmer mind? Less stress? More joy? More money? Now, set aside one minute to work towards that goal.

Yes, just one minute.

Ignore the feeling that sixty seconds is insignificant. Do this for seven days. Each day, dedicate one more minute to that same goal. Your week will look like this: Day 1 – one minute. Day 2 – two minutes. Day 3 – three minutes…up to Day 7 – seven minutes. By the end of the week, you’ll have invested about 30 minutes towards your goal.

I believe you can find one minute in your day for something that truly matters to you. Give it an honest try. Create your own momentum.

Need some inspiration? Here are some things you could choose from:

  • Gratitude exercises (Choose Again Exercise)

  • Sit-ups/Push-ups/Jumping-jacks/Weights/Stretch

  • Deep-breathe (self-check-in)

  • Read a few lines

  • Write a few words (Book goal? Journal?)

  • Dance

  • Connect with someone (Reach out to a friend via text)

  • Menu plan (think of 1 or 2 meals for the week)

  • Smile

  • Learn something

  • Say some affirmations

  • Play an instrument

  • Sing

Live inspired this week and let me know how it goes!
