Turn right at the mango tree
This week, I went in search of an ATM closer than forty minutes away (where I know there’s a working machine). I caught the bus and hopped off next to the public market where I’d been guided to by my hotel’s front desk. I wandered around - no ATM. I asked - head shakes, no ATM.
I circled around to another side and woman at a bake stand smiled at me. It seemed like a good omen. She’ll know, I think.
And she does!
I’m not 100% sure we understand each other completely, but I catch enough info that I feel hopeful:
“Go right at the mango tree.”
I’m laughing as I write this, that this seemed like enough to go on, but I’m living with a lot less certainty and a lot more faith than I used to.
I run off three general assumptions:
✨ The universe is loving.
🧠 I’m capable.
💛 People are good.
Add my iPhone to that list and I feel pretty ready to handle what ever lies in front of me!
Unknowns are everywhere. (By the way, I got to this market by taking a bus that has no official stop, schedule, or preset fare.) Your beliefs either comfort you or they scare you.
Practicing faith - believing in yourself and the world - Whether I shrink or expand comes from my beliefs. Whether I say yes or no, take that leap or stay still, let go or hold on, all come from my beliefs. Beliefs change us and the world we live in.
It matters what you believe.
If you’re looking to experience something different, more of something, or less of it, ask yourself what you believe.
I guarantee it’s changing how you live.
