Real Food, Real Fast: Tahini

I love the way a good sauce really brings things together. Tahini is a super-easy, super-fast hero ingredient that can add flavor and be the magic sauce in your dish. (It’s also a great way to squeeze in a little extra calcium!)

Drizzling tahini on a white bean (like cannelloni or navy) adds to the rich creamy flavor of the bean. I like to sauté up some onions, garlic, spinach and mushrooms and toss with some cooked beans. I season with salt, pepper, smoked paprika and for a little heat - chili powder or crushed red chili flakes.

This warm hearty dish was made for fall! It’s smoky flavor and creamy texture feels a bit like a rich stew without the broth. Hmm, now that I’m thinking about it, I might just try adding broth next time and see what happens!

Experiment and enjoy!
