Finding value in a different pace

Finding your pace doesn’t mean you can’t change your pace...

How often do you feel like a machine with two modes: on or off?

It’s so easy to believe that the fast pace you’re living is the only pace you can run at. You’ve got more than just an on-off switch.

Something I’ve gathered from listening to many different women is the idea that to be successful, a good mother, a supportive wife I need to be able to show up the same way everyday.

The truth? There’s room to listen to your rhythms AND be productive, loving, and supportive.

I’m deep in zen mode this week and I almost mistook my state of ultra-calm for lack of motivation. Moving at a different pace this week kinda threw me off. It’s easy to believe that we have a “productive” mode and a “rest” mode. The truth is that on-a-mission feeling that often accompanies getting stuff done isn’t the only way to check things off your list.

Getting proactively happy means having awareness about how you actually run versus setting your bar to be a machine. Accepting that energy ebbs and flows doesn’t mean less gets done. It can mean different things get done.

Clarity is a piece of my Micro-dosing Happiness Method. Removing barriers to happiness allows you to heed the call of a slower pace, self-care, or slower breathing.

Micro-dosing banishes the idea that listening to your needs takes away from someone else. And caring for yourself or just slowing down has different rewards. Learn to appreciate the variety of metrics that define a successful life. Sanity, fun, joy, connection, memories.

If it lights you up, it counts as productive!
